Growing up, I often found myself being a pillar of strength for friends and family during difficult times. Thus, I became fascinated by how thoughts, emotions, and relationships influence well-being. I pursued this passion in my career, in which I worked at Monash University as a sleep and eating disorder researcher. This involved working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression and other mood-related disorders. Seeing how providing small changes to thinking patterns, problem behaviours and implementing coping strategies can improve someone’s quality of life continues to be thoroughly rewarding in my career.

My journey in my years of university and internships have shaped my therapeutic approach by teaching me the importance of empathy, cultural awareness, and collaboration. Working with clients across the lifespan has been amazing and rewarding. This has taught me how to hone my skills in client-centred approaches and develop appropriate strategies.

My approach in session would be best described as client-led and exploratory; holding space for individuals to be their authentic selves.

Working with individuals of different professions, life experience and values makes my work as a psychologist profoundly fulfilling and enriching.
